Peter, the leak may be located at the seal of the rear window. One (expensive) cure is to replace the window along with the sealing, which has sometimes been done under warranty by MGR.
My Tourer stays dry under any weather conditions, but after a car wash some water accumulates at the brake light and drops down onto the load space cover. As long as it happens only under this circumstances, I don't worry about it.
