It is just different way of automotive insurance from my standing point. Having in mind this way insurance worked all my life I am used to look it in different way then you. Of course, if I would going to live in UK and need to make insurance in UK, then I would need to adapt the way it is where I am living at that point in time. If I am just a tourist with my car or car hiring, then my insurance, or car hiring company will have to cover insurance in the proper way.
