One thing I had when doing up an old Commando was I replaced the float bowl gaskets but it ran very rich. A guy at work advised me to trim about 1mm off the inside edge of the new gaskets as they can expand when first fitted and actually prevent the float going fully up. He was right enough, cured the problem.
