As the breather pinhole is at an angle of 90˚ to the tube, unfortunately you can't. The cam covers have to be removed. The breather tubes do become hardened and brittle. It's normal to have to renew them at some point during ownership. Compared with broken springs, ARB links and front suspension arm bushes, the breather tubes are a walk in the park!
