I had something similar when I acquired my ZT-T oil burner. There were many obvious issues which I attended to and things improved, but it was still lacking some urge. On a low tank of fuel, I added a bottle of Cataclean, ran around in it for about half an hour to get it nice and warm and then gave it an Italian tune up down a dual carriageway. Held it in 3rd gear and kept my foot firmly buried in the carpet for a while. The s*h*i*t*e that came out of the exhaust was really impressive, in a bad sort of way. Anyway, ran around for 10 mins or so and then did it again. More black smoke that eventually subsided.
So after all that? It was a different car! I couldn't believe the difference and was quite impressed how well it went in standard tune. That's more like it!
Its easy and cheap, a bit disconcerting maxing it out and holding it there, but it worked. Might be worth a try if it's running ok other than a lack of go.
