He knew darned well that if the scots did indeed get independence, they would be entitled too , and they would in fact be left with very little. Wales and N.I are entitled to a percentage too should a split be on the cards. 50 tons gold reserves wont buy you a strong currency format. The UK is around 18th position in the world for total gold reserves . Russia is up there with the best. Who would invest in scotland ? The E.U will be in no rush to open the club doors.
