The fuse (F22 for a MK1) is used for the radio and the CD player so you can't remove that.



What you could do is remove the CD player from the glove compartment and remove the casing. Unplug the cable from the board (actually the opposite from what Chris had to do ) It will be a bit fiddly but it can be done.


You could also try to disconnect the cable from the back of the radio. Unfortunately the CD player will still be powered then (but maybe it prevents it from causing problems).


Or maybe replace the CD player with another?
