It will be going in for an alignment, certainly. No regular speed bumps or particularly poor roads.

It is the fact that it is so localised to the extreme edge of the tyre that gets me. Usually you might see the shoulder wearing away a little if it was toeing poorly, but it's as if something has dug into it over a width of 10mm or so and nowhere else.
