Reviving this old thread because it contains technical information about the oil. I'm doing this job next after the wheel bearing as I'm at 163,000 miles (and i've done at least 63,000 of them). Oil not changed as far as I know and although not hard the gearchange is less smooth than was.



I can't attach files but I use Smith & Allan for my 1956 motorcycle and it's been good. Their product GeartechMTF94 sets out to match the Rover MTF94 and indeed the technical document that they publish mirrors the Texaco one word for word. About £13 for 5 litres.
