HI Paul.
As above first check the O-ring on the intercooler bend going into the intercooler, easier to do with the bumper removed.

Also crash bar, you can take out the NS light to gain access better to.

Mind if you are decent with spanners it can all be done from within the engine bay without removing the front off.

You can unplug the MAF sensor also to check its not that, but with the smoke look at intercooler hoses and O-rings.
