It's fairly easy, slacken the handbrake at the lever and the adjuster for the brake shoes, brake calliper & disc off and then the whole hub. Never had a problem removing the hubs or had to use a puller. The only difficulty has been with the brake shoes which sometimes don't want to retract and bind but as you've changed sensors twice it's the next logical step, unless someone has other ideas.

Have a look at backplates using the search, I'm sure Arctic has a few pictures there of the possible build up of rust which then can cause ABS problems.

But as MarinaBrian has pointed out, you might be looking at a replacement hub.
