If needed, you can read the resistance from the plug under the back seat. If you look at the plug from above (looking at it from the rear driver's door) it'll be the first pins on the left (1 and 4 I think) for one float and the two pins on the right (3 and 6) for the other float. They are connected by a little jump wire in the loom which the IPK reads. It's definitely less messy than removing the floats!
