Yes the transponder will be corrupt I'm afraid
It is a case of removing the EWS3 immobiliser from the car and posting it to whoever you choose who make keys..............

It may be worth having two transponders made, and treating yourself to one of
THESE at the same time......one key only is a disaster in the waiting for these cars.
