My recently acquired v8 developed a cooling leak, so a look under the bonnet revealed nothing, but a look underneath showed coolant on the rear of the subframe.
I moved one of the 2 heater pipes and there was a little hiss followed by a glug glug sound.
The pipe had split just above the jubilee clip, so the pipe was trimmed and refitted, but a new pipe will be ordered to replace this one.
