Power VIS new experience
My daughter decided to sell her expensive Ford S-Max and buy a much more comfortable 75 Tourer, clever girl. We picked up the “new” car, ran Toaf - dead power VIS and I drove away in my 2.5 “Midsomer” but despite both cars being 2.5 autos she just couldn’t keep up and she normally drives like a loon (wonder who taught her?).
Anyway back home we replaced the VIS with one from my box of Stocktake motors, and the difference was night and day, even at lower revs.
I’d always thought that the Power VIS did its thing around 4000 rpm, which is correct but this one had failed in the open position meaning that it didn’t benefit from the 2700 torque peak when both Power and Balance are closed.
Always something to learn …
