Ok we appear to be sorted!. I'm sure the EWS is fine as it's totally dry in there, and no sign of water ingress.
I've spent some time going over the earthing points with wire wool, and checking fuses.
After changing the alarm fuse for another known good one - all my problems seem to have stopped!
