![]() When mounting the large curved (smiley) rear number plates do people use double sided tape? Or is it necessary to use the slightly thicker ‘spacer’ type pads/tape?

![]() Also worth noting that the adhesive pads need to be places vertically. The ingress of water behind will get in there and can detatch,as i found out. This is found to be more common,on cars which live outside most of their lives ,not in a garage. Mine are plastic bolted now, and it saves the worry of checking and losing them on the motorway, and having to buy new ones.!! There are a few posts on here on how to position the adhesive pads to help the water drain away , but i prefer the belt and braces after my disaster, even after buying 3M and cleaning correctly....
