Ah, it's resurfaced, I had that link years ago but then for some reason it would no longer work.
Yes the work done by Randall was in the late nineties. It's the usual thing though, all done for cost, I noticed on the new article the actual cost savings per unit seem to have disappeared now replaced by percentages. If they'd only galvanized the blooming things they wouldn't have had so many problems due to corrosion. The similar arms on the Volvo S60 and associated models are all galvanised any just never rot!
