Took Starlight in for welding this morning, 3 areas on front offside sill, they also noticed corrosion around outer sill by front jacking point so cut out a section and welded in new metal, jacking point solid. All done, seam sealer, paint, stone chip, then drilled 3 holes and injected 2 litres lanoguard with 120 psi lance, rubber grommets put in to seal. Fantastic job and only charged £279.00.
Labour rate £40.00 an hour, previous body shop that I used for rear sills and jacking points did a great job but charged £80.00 an hour. Hopefully nothing else needs doing for a while.

Took car in for aircon belt and tensioner, purchased from DMGRS.
my usual mechanic was on holiday, rover factory trained, the mechanic was obviously struggling on this. Phoned Arctic who told him how to do the job, once again a big thanks! Obviously this belt has never been changed totally perished, loads of foam rubber all around, the tensioner bearings had gone, loads of wobble. All working again now. Can't understand why when main auxillary belt water pump and thermostat was changed 2 years ago the garage that i got the car from did not do this job, would have been easy at the time
Once again a big thanks to Arctic!
