Today Kenya has deteriorated into riots across the country with parliament in Nairobi being set on fire. We heard the army is now patrolling the streets and police shot dead 8 protesters. Apparently the rioters are planning to burn down state house on Thursday over the finance bill and hikes in taxes. This evening we have had gun ships flying over the house on the way to the city. The internet was switched off this afternoon and it is intermittent.

We heard gunshots this evening across the valley. Hopefully we will be able to reach the airport for our flight to the UK on Saturday. If we can’t, we might have to delay our flight or drive to the border if things get ugly.

We are locked in for the night in our safe room. Hopefully things will settle soon without any more loss of life.
