Best wishes to all who are "under the weather" today, in more ways than one!
Taking mum for her Covid jabs and eye exams at the hospital today. Since we got back, she's had scam calls from her "bank", a boiler failure and leaks on the heating and water system! Also found out that the Power of Attorney application that was requested in November, hasn't even been sent yet, due to a C* up at the solicitors. I got a letter in late November asking for payment (which they already had). Rang them (in November) and was told to ignore it as it was a standard letter! Our payment had been credited to the wrong account!!! Doh!

Why use a Solictor? Application is quite straight forward if a little trying filling in the forms and only £82 fee.

It was for my mum, who is a belt and braces type of lady, who wanted it done "properly"! She may be 99 but the "lady is not for turning"! Her "temporary" carers, after her broken arm, described her as "very independent and she knows her own mind"! Unfortunately for those around her, she is not as independent as she used to be and it can be very "trying", for all concerned! Her "disability aids" are stacking up in the back bedroom and she also refuses to wear her fall alarms (she has one and a spare) despite her falling several times last year. I see her slip it on as I arrive at the house!!!
