Default Are classic cars doomed?

I'm sure there's a few members here that are subscribers to the Furious driving YT channel, He's asking is the 40 year rule killing classic cars?

The government has a consultation going at present about registering historic, classic, rebuilt vehicles etc. Have your say as it's open til 4th July 2024.

Blimey! That's a bit obvious! The longest suicide notice that ever was. I bet its even got a temperature gauge. Not that I'm paranoiac or anything.

Classics are safe in our lifetime. There use might get restricted in some way in the future like they are already in some countries but the classic car industry is worth a lot to the UK Economy and there actual value will make sure there will be some fuel of what ever form it takes to run them on for a while yet.
Inevitably they will be like Steam Engines, still about but rarely seen.
The amount of mileage most do will not have any effect on the total emissions it will be obtaining the fuel easily that could be the first problem. There will probably be a map of places where fuel is available and when its open.

I agree. Fuels will be available from specialist suppliers as long as there are cars needing them. There are already such fuel suppliers for classic cars and garden machinery e.g. https://www.classicfuelsolutions.co.uk/
