Default Starter motor blues..

Hello all, I have a 2005 rover 75 2.0 cdti and I can't see an easy way to find and remove the back top starter motor bolt, can't even find it.
There's so much stuff in the way.
Could some kind soul tell me what to remove to get to it please?
Thank you.
Tom.

IIRC I put a socket 13mm?? on an extension and after having cleared a gap through the obstructions so I could roughly see the location of the bolt head, I then aimed it through the obstacles and when located undid the bolt but didn't remove it just left it in place. As well as making it easier to keep it located for retightening it also has an earth lead which will stay in place.

Hope this helps.

Have you got an automatic? If so you can't see the bolt and have to do it by feel. As mentioned, leave the socket , bolt and extension in place after undoing it.
