Default MPG calculator

Came across this excellent website http://www.mpg-calculator.co.uk/ that enables you to speedily calculate your actual mpg by inputting litres and mileage. Found that my IPK - brim to brim - underscores by 0.8 mpg. Hope it helps.

It's something I do out of force of habit - I always reset my trip counter to zero when I refuel.

I know roughly that I get just under 300 miles from a full tank on my ZT V6, although my new ZT seems heavier on fuel, but I think this down to an inaccurate fuel gauge and reads zero earlier than it should. IPK is averaging around 22 mpg and from my mental arithmetic this does seem about right.

That is better than when I do the sums for my Volvo 'people carrier' which equates to 8 or 9 mpg... (I should add my Volvo is a 1975 Volvo Ailsa D/D bus...)

I’ll give this a shot. See how accurate the ipk is..... Here’s hoping it’s under reading. What’s the chances?

Thanks for posting the link.

I wrote a little itty bitty program to do this very accurately, it's still available for download here:-
