Atlantic Blue Passanger Side Doors
As some of you may be aware whilst I was away last weekend a "white van man" not knowing the size of his van ,hit - damage - and did a runner- to my Four Wheels. I dont want to loose my no claims bonus and go through very high costs of getting them repaired as apparently the whole side of the car would need to be resprayed.
SO IF ANY OF YOU ARE AWARE OF/OR HAVE SEEN A BREAKER ACTIVE WHO HAS BOTH NEAR SIDE DOORS FOR AN ATLANTIC BLUE 75, PLEASE EITHER REPLY TO THIS EMAIL OR SEND ME A PM Thanks in advance Mike

Yes, spoke to him on Tuesday and he doesnt have any atlantic Blues in at the moment. I am watching 2 sellers on ebay also Northampton and Birmingham. Have sent a couple of PMs to Birmingham but he has not come back as yet.
Certainly the Breakers seem to be the best cost effective option at the moment thus the post asking members to keep their eyes open for me Mike

You might want to look at the MIB, Motorists Insurance Bureau, who cover you against unisured drivers. They may cover you against hit and run.
Did you report it to the police..? Linky Linky...

Thanks for that one , I had not thought of it before. In fact I was not aware of its existence or purpose.

I doubt if many members are aware of this (I certainly wasn't, even though it doesn't apply to me now), but also, how many of our insurers are happy to not mention it when we make claims after giving them the full details. In fact it is such a useful link it needs to be "stuck". Mick |

On the matter of reporting the damage to the police, I didnt, on the assumption that they need only be involved if there are two parties present and in dispute.
I personally think the police have better things to do than have to record matters for and on behalf of the insurance industry, such as in a case like mine. I suspect that it is now too late to report the damage that was incurred over last weekend in any event and I was not about at the time of the incident only noticing at the end of a days work on Monday when pulling into a petrol station to fill up and replace a broke rear brake light did I get the shock of seeing the damage to the passanger side of the Car. I am not trying to prevoke a debate on the use of Police time with my comments above, but we all insure with various levels of excess which it would appear are at a level that is around the same for any minor body repairs that are just above your own level of competence. I also thought that in the insurance industry your word was your bond so why call upon the police to verify............there must be major doubt from the industry about their paying customers!
