Default Rover 75 heater blower not working

Hi all, I do hope I have done everything I should before making this post, I tried to check the FAQ's and have updated my profile as much as I can, so if anyone can help it would be most appreciated.
I have a Rover 75 2.5L V6 Connoisseur with environment control as in the picture, which would be fine if the blower motor was running, but it refuses to do just that. I have had it tested at the Rover garage and the man said that the controller was fine, as is the motor itself, and the only other thing it could be is the 'resistor pack'.
They are currently on back order from MG Rover, but in the meantime I have no heating. Does anyone know where I could get one of these from, and how it is installed, as I may prefer to do the job myself.
If someone could possibly point me in the right direction for where to look for this 'resistor pack' and where I might obtain a replacement at reasonable cost it would be most helpful. I understand the work required to do this is not too complicated, but any hints would help. The quote I have is for £170-00 which is something I can ill afford at this time of year.
Thank you for reading and I hope it isn't too boring for here.

Welcome to the Club Pat,
and sorry to hear you have problems.

Other than checking the Fuse and Relay thats about as far as I can suggest,
but someone will be along later with further suggestions and fixes I'm sure.

Perhaps you could explain what exactly your heater/climate control does, or does not do. There maybe another explanation to your problems. The garage may well be correct but a second opinion from the members wouldn't go amis

Swap relay 5 (blower) with relay No 2 (Heated rear window)
Both are large yellow relays in the under bonnet fusebox.
I believe the digital ATC consoles have a Transistor Pack regulator (item 9 in John's PDF) as opposed to a resistor pack
Let me know your findings:xmas-smiley-022:

Hello JM, and thank you for the link. I am going to swap the relays around as has been suggested, this afternoon, but could someone tell me where the resistor/transistor pack would be so I can try and identify which it is ?
In response to the question of what exactly is wrong, this is quite simply that the blower motor is not blowing, so no warm air is coming into the car. On a manual type car I would expect some warm air to flow when driving along even without the motor running, if the heat setting was set high, but on this I seem to get nothing but a faint trickle of cold air, just enough to clear the screen, when on the move.
Thanks for the help so far, and I'll get back with the result of changing the relays over.

I have now swapped the relays over and I am afraid it has made no difference, the blower motor still doesn't blow.

You could try the self diagnostics for the ATC unit.
Hold AUTO button in the switch on ignition.
Thread somewhere on the home page in the DATA downloads IRRC.

Then it's a job for a multi meter prodding around the transistor pack & motor pins itself.
Good luck
Here it is: Bottom left PDF file http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/index.php?thepage=howto
If you can't view them I think you need to cough up yer 3 quid subscription fees.
Very cheap membership of a fine club IMO

Thank you, I will carry out the check tomorrow and see what it says. I did manage to open the files so maybe I am a paid up member of something
One thing I seem unable to find is the location of the transistor/resistor pack, could you say where it is ?

I am a little confused though, does your comment refer to becoming a paid up member of this forum ?
If that is the case then I am more than happy to join, as I have one or three other problems that I would like advice about. In which case, could someone point me in the direction for joining up ?.
