Default Airbag warning light

When removing the steering wheel airbag it is recommended to disconnect the battery for a while before hand.
As I have the airbag warning light on, I want to fiddle with the under seat connectors. I hope pulling them apart and reconnecting them will suffice.
Should I disconnect the battery first?

Does each seat have a warning light or does one light deal with both front seats?

No need to remove the battery but once the key has been removed from the ignition dont start doing the job for at least 30 mins.

Not always the under seat connections as I recently found out, mine turned out to be a high resistance connector on the nearside impact sensor.

One light does everything, any fault and the light will come on.

My advice is to disconnect the battery Ian.

There are sensors throughout the motor that will signal an airbag fault

Under seat connectors are the usual suspects. If you still have the airbag fault light after you have modified them, you need a T4 session, to tell you which of the many shock sensors, air bags, pre tensioners are faulty.

Shock sensors under the front seats would be my guess, if the underseat connectors are ok

Ian, what others may do, and what I would do are different things. Disconnect the battery. It does not matter how long the key is out the IGN.
Much of the system is connected in series. They are + triggered. Inadvertently put anything in contact with 12v and you will rue the day.
