Default Looks like we could see diesel cheaper than petrol for some time

I thought this price difference in favour of diesel (first time since 2001 apparently) was likely to be a short term "glitch".

But maybe not - glad I have a cdti

What happened to the excuse that Diesel was more expensive to produce?

More to the point diesel is a waste product of producing petrol, so you have to make petrol to make diesel??? should there not be a massive surplus of petrol that needs to be shifted cheap???

It certainly does. One tiny splash on your clothes & it's all you can smell. Gives me a headache & l'm a lorry driver.
Never had a diesel car.

The AA have speculated that diesel is due a further fall of c 4p a litre over the next few weeks that would be welcome

Just wait until the demand for central heating oil picks and then the diesel will be back where it deserves to be, more expensive than petrol, if only because of the smell and nasty particulates it produces.

Diesel all the way. No idea why I never owned a diesel before. Would never go back to petrol.
