Thumbs up Sean's double din unit & HK

I know I asked about this some time ago, but after a year of medical probs and a pacemaker to help fix them, I've forgotten the answer and can't find it.
I have a 75 fitted with HK sound and Low line Sat Nav.
What are the problems in fitting the double din unit, if any.
As a 77 year old non agile old *** I will have to explain to my mechanic how to fit it. Before I order one.

I have asked Radioguy this aswell, and his answer was YES! The system has 8 speakers but the HU only sees 4, so the unit will work

Shouldn't be a problem.

If your low-line, worked in a similar way to my Hi-Line.....

My Hi-line plugged into a set of connectors which fed back to the HK, then the HK fed the 10 speakers. On removing the heaunit, I found a plug stashed behind the ciggy lighter, which could be plugged directly into the back of Sean's DD. You will need to use the supplied short adaptor lead, because it swaps over the switched and permanent 12v feeds.

That hidden plug directly fed the 8x door speakers, bypassing the HK unit completely, so 8 of your speakers will still work as before, but not the subs in the parcel shelf.

A roundtuit maybe next summer, will be to see if I can get the HK back working as it was intended to work.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.
