Currently watching Wheeler Dealers on Channel 37 Freeview.
Edd and Mike are getting a mid-80s Audi Quattro up to the mark.
Mike needed some parts for the car and visited an AUDI parts specialist run from an ordinary looking private house with bedrooms devoted to car parts ... What I found remarkable was the car on the driveway. A very tidy looking ZT V8. Obviously a man of good taste. Last edited by Abott10; 22nd May 2018 at 23:55.. |

Is it just me or when they get to the part about how much a car cost to get into saleable condition versus how much they sell it for, do you ever ask.......was it worth it? After all, having stripped the car almost to its component parts, then put it back together again, they say (should that be Mike says) and we made £nearly a thousand pounds. What about the time and effort involved, never really that great is it? Then Mike says ME & Edd, didn't really notice ME doing much to assist, but then he is a wheeler dealer!!!

Episode was first shown in 2009, probably filmed in 2008. ZT would only be 4-5 years old.

Has anyone else done what I do, put the registration number of the car in the VOSA MoT history website and notice how many of the cars are no longer MoT'd and how many advisories they had on them when completed ready for sale, I think from memory I have only found one or perhaps two still on the road.

The owner of that car was a member of the two sixties at the time, he gave us a heads up it would be seen on the show.

The entire point of the show is to put rare/deserving cars back on the road that could do with a bit of saving. The "profit" is just part of the game, and the real point of the show is as I said above. |

If anyone is interested, Edd China is now starting out on his own, with a Pilot Episode on youtube where he goes and helps people finish off car restorations. Wheeler dealers is pretty much dead now its Americanised. Fortunately plenty other stuff out there now on youtube. Its a long goodbye to the traditional media companies, and not before time, money grabbing, corporate greed etc, thank god people now can edit their own programs and we the public are free to support who we like via Patreon etc etc. The world is changing, and some of it for the better. |
