Default CDT auto box

Hi, does anyone know and preferably had one recently, how much a reconditioned autobox and torque convertor is and where to get one from? Ashcroft transmissions tell me they only do freelancer boxes.

Thumbs up Auto Box

Find that peculiar as in my file I definately have an advert from Ashcroft for Jatco recon. boxes for £850 exchange (including rebuilt torque converter), though it was some years ago now. It was supply only, no fitting service available. (On another tack they also told me they fill Jatco boxes with Dextron..........NOT correct)
Is it worth 'Googling' ?
One very helpful & knowledgable recon specialist I spoke to was JR Transmissions, 35A Queens Road, Farnborough, GU14 6JP. Tel:- 01252 548337.
Maybe worth a call, he was the only specialist of several I spoke to who freely told me, in most cases, he could replace a cracked reverse piston without removing the box.
Another reliable sounding specialist rebuilder is:- TES Transmissions Ltd, Link Road, Westbury, Wiltshire, BA13 4JB Tel:- 01373 822041
For parts member, 'littleun', reported, for the same parts:-
AUTOMATICChoice £141. 57,
JPAT'S £117.55,
SUSSEXAUTO'S £74.03 ! ! ! TEL:- 01323 848886
This was for the reverse piston parts (18 components)
Good luck

the company we use is AMG in hastings they charge around the 1000 mark with all the vat and extras, i do know there are cheaper people out their but these people are good they only do auto boxes. they have done a few over the years for us now and not only rover boxes we have only ever had one problem and they had the car collected from the customer repaired it delivered it back to the customer no questions no extra costs. we sell all our cdt auto boxes to them that have faults. they are 100% trust worthy.
