Emperor's Clothes
Who has heard of the parable of the Emperor’s clothes? Well the latest cobblers’ beats that into a cocked hat.
In their latest desperate efforts to display their compliance with what is now the accepted dogma, charity runners in Leigh on Sea who organise a 10km run get a metal alloy medal for participating. Following a committee meeting they will now get a medal that will be ‘unique in that it will be invisible’ (the committee's official wording). Apparently the invisible medal is more sustainable and anyway the club no longer wanted to use the medal made in and shipped from China. I know charity begins at home.... Is there any end to the garbage that comes from official bodies?
