Long time no log on, terrible noise from under car
Hi folks
Long time no log on. So whats been happening? dropped someone off at a disco 2 months back and the road into the car park was very steep. Went half way up and thought ****** this, reversed back. Changed into first and a terrible noise from under the car. Could feel it through the gear stick surround. Big horrible rumble in every gear, it went when the reves were up. Turned out to be a road stone sitting on the middle strap exhaust support and stuck between exhaust and strap. It was a big big noise, the whole car seemed to rumble. The stone was stuck with the exhaust on it firmly, with the help of the lord and a good stick it was removed the next day. it really did sound very bad. |

Hi RDF, glad to see you back again.
I hope being stoned didn't do too much if any damage. |

Nice one. I haven’t really logged on much since the Haynes meet. I got a four foot long scratch on the front wing that day while in the car park. The exhaust fell apart at the front joint a few days later after the stone but I fixed it easily enough with a socket set and a hammer. During this I had the car jacked on my trolley jack but put the spare wheel under the sill just in case. The trolley jack gave out and the car came down on me, quickly! So I ended up with my face squashed but able to get out. My spare is a normal road wheel, ally 19 inch I may add. A close shave. Surprising how small a hole you can get your head into with 1 and a half tonnes on it!
Oh GG, I reckon "swallow". Oh also if you type this you get this ******. |

If I was in charge of the swear filter you'd be NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- by now.
Scary story, you'd think a full size wheel would be enough to keep you safe, glad you didn't hurt yourself. Personally I'm a "spit" man.................................. especially if siphoning petrol. |
