Default Bought a non runner - Immobiliser fault?

Hi, I have just bought a 1.8 N/a Mk2 conni, from a local garage, after they gave up on after the following.

Apparently the car wouldn't start after the battery ran flat, from what I can tell they tried the following:

Change LSM and ECU with ones from another car. (I don't think they have touched the immobilser box Marinabrian showed me at Perth)

I have checked the following before rain stopped play.

Changed battery for fully charged one
Initially got Err on mileage display, changed to the LSM on passenger seat and that went away.
No click from starter, took off spade terminal to solenoid, and cleaned both connectors, as well as tightened up fitting, still nothing.
Tried a bypass wire to starter solenoid and that spins the engine freely when 12v applied, but no start.
The Climate Control will cut out when the fan noise when the ignition key is turned to the start position, the fan restarts when the key is released.
There are 2 keys, one operated the remote locking, one works the steering wheel.
Fuel filter in tank checked, and not unscrewed, fuel in outlet pipe, and about 1/4 tank left.
Spark plugs dry, left out at the moment

Is it likely the immobilser and key have lost their connection after the flat battery?

Going out to run a DoE group, so not back till 10 pm or so, all help welcome!

Send me all of the ECU and I'll sort it out

So both key backs, EWS3 and the MEMS.

If it can be revived, I will do it for you

Hi Brian, I tried removing the ews3 box, but it is like a five point torx, none of my lidl super toolkit ones fitted, could you please give me the bit size?

Also, could you pm me your address?

Cheers
