Wonder if anyone can help please. My Connie conked out on me for no reason yesterday, I managed to start her but she conked out on the M18 !!. All ive done is changed the fuel pump and its been starting fine but yersterday she struggled a bit. she turns over but wont kick in and i think i flattened the battery too, Does anyone know what EP means on the dash display?

EP is an autobox fault indicator see threads - flat battery not good for any 75 they all like a good charge to start. WARNING If battery flat you must charge it before more attempts at starting or damage may occur, that will require a T4 to sort out for you.

Chips,

A very recent thread to which Marina Brian contributed stated that EP indicates a serial bus communication problem which may or may not include the automatic gearbox ECU.

Yes, it was news to me too.

Which pump, or pumps, did you change?
Have you checked if it still working?
Have you checked the plenum drains recently to ensure your ECU hasm't taken up SCUBA diving

It was the under bonnet fuel pump.

I would ignore that for a moment and put it down to low battery voltage until we know different.

yep it did appear when battery was very low, spoke to another person and he thinks it could be crank sensor could be cause of her conking out or possibly some contamination in the diesel as new pump was fitted but fuel filter wasnt replaced.

Have you checked if it (the pump) is still working?
Have you checked the plenum drains recently to ensure your ECU is dry?
