How many of us are existing on regular prescriptions and collect them from pharmacies? It's free folks, a very short trip to Tesco etc to collect your meds.

Except now, just as Royal Mail is up for grabs, your Postie has secured a deal to deliver the meds through your letter box. So, fancy a job opportunity on a huge estate with a bagful of drugs? Some Posties have to push a barrowful of mail around every day. What a target.

Oh, and your renewal doesn't come on time. That's considered progress.

I wouldn't trust meds to come through the post, least if you collect them or have the pharmacy deliver you're not gambling on them arriving.

The pharmacy at the doctors offered to deliver them so I took them up on their offer. The guy that delivers is always smart and drives a BMW X5 so the pay must be good. He looks too posh to just be a delivery driver

If its his own vehicle I hope he had business use on his insurance.

Pharmacies here all have a "company" vehicle, usually a small van with the pharmacy name on it.

We both have ours delivered monthly through Pharmacy2U for years & I can't complain, It's always been delivered on time & always the correct meds. They used to come in letterbox friendly packages but like most other parcels/boxes these days the postie has to take a picture of it being delivered.

Our local pharmacy used to always be full, with a smaller queue for those "waiting for their prescription to be made up". Nowadays there's rarely anyone in the shop! Probably because there is litlle chance of getting to see a doctor and the locals don't trust a pharmacist to do the doctor's job! The place is run down, looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months and reminds me of a third world country!

I'm attempting to reverse my type 2 diabetes as the latest pills l've been put on are on the DVLA radar & in not too many years l'll be having to renew my licence yearly. It just took them four months to renew my HGV entitlement because of the risk of hypo's (very low blood sugar), something l've never had before but have now had the symptoms of a couple of times since starting those particular pills.
Both my wife & myself are on a carbohydrate free diet so no bread, potatoes, rice or pasta & l'm noticing the results in my daily blood sugar tests are quite promising. Of course any products containing processed sugar are out too, we are trying to be very good. I weighed myself yesterday too, a smidgeon under 12 stone which was quite satisfying.

While DVLA have your licence you can still actually drive the lorries on a Section 88 but it's surprising how many transport staff haven't heard of that so it can still cause issues.
Actually my tachograph card went up the pictures last week so until my licence finally got to me yesterday l was driving without licence or tacho card. DVLA say that should be back with me in a few days too.
