Sadly only 30 minutes duration, so can't see it even going to the depth of a pothole.

As someone who lives in the county named by the RAC as having the worst potholes in the country I can fully believe it. Many of Derbyshire's roads resemble the lunar surface,they cost me personally two tyres over the winter on my daily,my 45. I consider myself fortunateas it didn't buckle the wheels,it's virtually impossible to find replacement wheels for a MK 245..The programme said 80% of claims to councils are rejected,and for this reason I didn't bother submitting any.I wonder how many thought the same and didn't either.I know road fund duty isn't ringfenced for the road but it makes it even more galling when there is always a large annual rise.Hardly any of the counties verges are cut,some 4-5 high,very dangerous when approaching an island or junction and you can't see what is coming until
you nudge up to the white line.I've said before that motorists could be a very powerful
body if they were prepared to stand together but sadly that will never happen,preferring to have a moan in the pub and bend over.The daft thing is they would only have to do it once to be taken seriously by local councils and government.We get a better deal on all sorts of matters motoring related and acted as one and put up with being milked by the authorities despite receiving very service. When you think how many motorists are affected and the effect the drama series Mr Bates V the Post Office, it does make one wonder what we could do if we banded together.

As a side note, with some people now flitting around the country giving speeches I wonder what they are doing for pollution levels and it they notice how bad the roads are.
I saw a sticker on the back of a car " not drunk, just avoiding pot holes" That is a bit how I drive.

I’ve been to Scotland this week and I don’t remember seeing any potholes. It was almost a pleasure to be driving around, with the exception of some 20mph limits that have appeared since the last time I was there.

It is policy to reject a claim. However, you have the option to e-mail Grant Shapps and ask him how his £1,800 claim was passed ;-)

The other option which works everytime is a Small Claim Court action. Take a photo of the pothole and the damage to the vehicle. An independent engineer's report will seal the action but not many of us will go down that extra route. You cannot loose in the sense that costs can be awarded against one and don't forget to add the SCC cost into the claim amount.

What a faff.

Withholding road tax en - mass to pay for damage repairs would be a darn sight more effective and more likely to see pronto improvements,I'd say.
