Thermostat KV6
Good morning all Having bit the bullet and decided to replace my leaking thermostat over the coming weekend much to my wife's annoyance she seems to think shopping is much better No way I would like to know what sealer to use along with the O rings So if anyone has any suggestions i would be grateful I was thinking about using Loctite instant gasket 5926 but would like to be sure Thanks

Alan , if you mean the O rings fitted to the plastic parts then I didn't use any sealant when I did mine . Just a spray of silicone grease to aid assembly .
Nearly two years on and all is fine Have a look at Jim McGlynn's excellent guide to prepare .................. http://www.jimmcglynn.pwp.blueyonder...tat/index.html

Thanks for the reply Going the better safe than sorry route I just don't want to do the job twice Can't see any harm in using sealer The Guide is excellent as you say I think I'll buy some shares in Rimmers might work out cheaper for me Cheers Chris
