Default zt 260 supercharged -real world

Does anyone have it done, what effect did the supercharger have on the mpg, are the standard brakes really up to it, and what hit did your insurance take for the supercharger.

Just doing the sums just now and dont want to commit to a pointless excercise if its just like burning a pile of £50's

Have a look on the Two-Sixties Forum. Quite a few members there have supercharged V8s. Dreadnought Engineering in Callendar do conversions for circa £7500. Apparently 'economy' is lttle affected. Brakes, gearbox suspension, etc. will handle 400BHP with no problems.

I fitted a supercharger to my 260 for a total cost of £5k. I didn't notice any difference in fuel economy in normal driving, but I have had as little as 130 miles out of a tank .

Insurance now costs less than a standard car (Brit Insurance).

If your thinking about doing it yourself pm me and I'll help all I can.

No it's not been back on the RR since it was mapped, don't see the point in doing that when the car is running ok. But I have been back to JamSport today and let Jamie drive the car, and in his words " that car as a total package is absolutly spot on"
He had a big smile on his face when he got out of the car so he must think it's running ok

Just out of curiousity..........did you had an MoT after the remap and what are the emission figures like.

Apparently Kenne Bell didn't release the kit for the ZT as a DIY package, as the fuel system and ECU are different and their supplied mapping will not work. How much did JamSport charge for the mapping?

Car pasted MOT no problem. But I don't use the Kenne Bell chip, your right it's not suitable for the MG. JamSport charged me £500 to do the map, which is about the normal price for a full remap.
If an MG can impress a confirmed ford nut like Jamie at Jamsport then the car can't be far wrong
