Jack oil
Hi any recommendations for the above or just any off the shelf stuff, for trolley and bottle jack ?

I'm sure I've read/heard about using Auto Transmission fluid .
But, thinking about what you're likely to be doing when using a hydraulic jack and the consequences if it all goes pear shaped then maybe sticking with something designed for the task is a better bet https://www.sgs-engineering.com/spx-.../hydraulic-oil. Now waiting for the folks that use jacks for a living to chip in with their recommendations. |

I think Jack oil is renamed shock absorber fluid, unless l dreamed that.

I dont know about viscosity but it needs to be hydraulic oil

Yes it works as you would expect it was only when I tried it on its side that it wouldn’t work with any pressure

Carlube Jack Oil £3.45 from Euro Car Parts is excellent so is Comma Jack Oil

The oil needed for a jack is basiically hydraulic oil meeting ISO VG32.
