Default looking for this tool

According to the Haynes manual it is 54-023 prising tool.
It is for removing the near side drive shaft from the transmission housing.

Have you a picture or link to one.

I have one of these it is basically a wedge shaped U with a short bar attached, however the shaft can be popped out using a stout flat bladed screwdriver, or a small pinch bar in the absence of the real thing

Would it be similar/same as the 'pot joint' tool for Mini driveshafts Brian?
If so Minispares have them in stock.

I use a small tyre lever, it pops out quite easily.

I think I did not understand the instructions, not only that, it's the off side that's leaking doh

Gawd man !!

Well in my little "how too" I wrote for you, you can include removing the intermediate bearing support bracket, and omit the bit concerning the circlip on the inner CV joint as there isn't one on the offside shaft
