You should have a switch that looks like this below your heater control panel (above the ashtray). Switch on the cruise from there and then use your steering wheel controls
If you don't have the switch it's possible a previous owner has swapped the wheel (is it wood by any chance) and it came with the steering controls but the car has no cruise As for the bonnet, sounds like the switch isn't operating properly. If the bonnet is closed OK, you may need to adjust the switch

press the dash master switch on first.. its the one with the logo like a motorway bridge... down above the ashtray Then if its been setup up OEM use the Wheel switches to get the cruise light on the speedo If cruise has bee added later and not setup on a T4 ( like mine ) then push the RES once to get the cruise light on the speedo display. then use the wheel switches to operate. NB only works above 22-23 mph. Braking will cancel any setting Bonnet switch .. you can't adjust it .. but stick a thin rubber pad or similar on the bonnet where the switch touches and see if it cures the problem ? C.

Ah we will leave it here for a while so he knows where to find his post.
Does the bonnet light come on at speed or she the car is stationary? My thoughts are a loose bonnet catch or its partially jammed on the linkage etc.

look down in the holes where the bonnet catches are.you should see a lug sticking out this secures the bonnet.if you cannot see them oil them and pull the lever a few times until you do.also slacken off the securing bolts a tadge x2 by each catch.you will then hear the cables relax and the lugs should then be visable.in short your bonnet is not securing which at speed lifts a bit setting of the light

What type of opening does the bonnet have, is it the "level" type from the ZT or the claw type from the early cars.
