not cheap at £90 but it lasts for life so can only be good thing for suspect head gaskets as it builds no pressure in the system.

wouldnt trust it.
Despite it having a much higher boiling point, pure propylene glycol which is what this is, has a much lower specific heat capacity than water, almost half. While this means that it wont boil until it becomes much much hotter, it also will not dissipate heat as quick. This would effectively reduce the size of the radiator. Trying to get this over in laymans terms, what it means is that once your engine temperature reaches a particular running temperature then the waterless coolant would be hotter than a traditional coolant would. not a problem as there is plenty of overhead before boiling but your fan would run a great deal more as the car would think it hotter than it should be. This would also mean that the engine block would be hotter and therefore the oil. Im not sure if standard size oil coolers would help with this. I know a lot of oils are rated to over 200 degrees celcius but anyhting over 150 degrees would cause concern. |

theres two parts you have to buy for this .. there flush . which i think is roughly around half the price of the coolant
if i remember rightly it was around £14.00 a ltr when this was brought up in the tf section of the other site

Hi I saw this too and wondered. However, I am always a bit suspicious of magic cures whatever the problem. Reckon the concerns re heat are a good point. Chris |

I looked into this stuff years ago, but the company making it, Evans, were USA based and didn't have an outlet in the UK.
They did agree to sell me some but the minimum amount was too large for me to handle or afford at that time.. It looked good stuff though. They have website so look them up if you're interested. http://www.evanscooling.com/ ... Last edited by James.uk; 17th October 2012 at 00:01.. |

Thanks Sapper
Knew someone would come and explain it to me, looked at the main distributors site and this seems to be the prefered option for vintage cars, not much about modern ones. Im upgrading to a CDTI next month and hopefully will get alot more miles behind the wheel than the 340 !!! I managed this year with my 1.8 Classic. Been a dog since I got it, just one of those motors, despite over a grand being spent on it. |
