![]() hey men,
my manhole cover at work is knackered and looked dangerous so i decided to fix it ![]() So measured the frame that was there and it was showing 630mm x 480mm. Went online and every single one (jewson/wickes/b&q etc etc) showed only 600x450 ![]() ![]() ![]() I never thhought they varied in size that much ![]() fleabay i went and there was only 2 i could find that had measurements the same as mine and was 55 miles away in Cambridge ![]() ![]() Off i went this morning and collected it, £6.36 and £20.00 of petrol plus the 2 hour car journey and I was feeling chuffed as chuffy people ![]() Okay i decided to double check the measurements and then on looking at the one i purchased I realised there was an inner lip on the frame, when i measured it, yep you guesssed 600x450. My old one didnt have this lip as it had rusted away making me beleive i had a special sized manhole cover ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I am laughing now but i was well ![]() Anyways, now you all laughed at me, can i ask, do you bed the frame on mortar or concrete ![]() cheers an embarrased og |

You'd bed the frame on mortar mate. I have the unfortunate task of setting out gullies, manholes, catchpits and inspection chambers everyday! ![]()
