Default Inside the traffic master + beeper.

Thanks to Les and Ceedy I now have a Trafficmaster installed. Before doing so I pulled it apart - it's just what I do. I noticed a lot of people complaining about the beeping and found it has its own internal beeper (Black cylinder top left in the first pic). I've stuck a bit of insulating tape over the top hole to quieten it down a bit, we'll see if it works.... Anyway - here are some photos of what's in it. Rumour has it one of the unused pins can deactivate the beeper but I'm not convinced from what I was able to trace.

In principle I don't see why not. You'd need a solder-sucker or solderwick to do a neat job. Avoid levering the beeper about while de-soldering as it's easy to damage the tracks on the board when getting big components out of plated-through holes.

In truth a blob of blu-tac pushed firmly on the top will silence it pretty effectively.

The whole thing comes apart easily, you can see the two clips that secure the housing on two sides looking at the plug-end. Use a thin blade to lever the housing outwards and the whole assembly just slides out.
