I wouldn't consider Sean TRADING as I previously bought stuff from him and I contacted him as I had tried all other avenues and he was kind enough to get me out of a pinch. I can't see what your problem is with Members helping one another.

Thank you pat for clarifying the situation.
Members helping members out of a fix, no problem at all sir, long may it continue Ex traders contacting members for their address via PM then being thanked openly for their excellent service once more, does paint a different picture I think you'll agree? Just watching the boards, seeing that club rules are being observed. It's our role |

Right I have ceased trading on the fourm I have not answered any wanted adds I have put 2 items for up for sale in the members parts which I beleve I am allowed to. And a few tranist bits in items for sale.
I am still trading on my facebook page and my website though again I believe I can do this. Over the years I have made some good friends on here and I still trade with them off this club site. Which again I believe I am allowed to, but to stop all this please do not contact me though this club via the boards or pm as it is causing problems as you can see from reebs posts on this thread. I am not going to keep saying this but I am winding down slowly my trucks are being sold or sold in parts my yard is totally shut down. I am only really doing work for my regular customers cars. I hope this clears this up once and for all now. |

To be honest, I suspect the Facebook groups are going to overtake the forums before long anyway. Everything is free and they're growing like bindweed.

I know you're asking rhetorically but I'll answer anyway! I think it's mainly because Facebook is like the Tesco Extra of the Internet: there are some things you can't get there but they make it easy to get a heck of a lot of other stuff under one roof! The big advantage is that you can indulge all your interests in one place and it's much more flexible in terms of conversations, tagging people, liking comments and making recommendations for other people to enjoy too. It's also much easier to post photos and draw things to other people's attention. Finally, I think because people go onto to Facebook for what it offers in general before they start joining interest groups, the whole experience is more intuitive and easy to interact than single-interest forums because people instinctive understand the 'Facebook way'. Don't get me wrong, I like forums too but Facebook slots very easily into my other life interests. I laugh with my friends, post a funny photo I took, read up on my favourite sports and have a look at some Rover/MGs too. That's why!
