Question MOT Faliure Sills - How much?

Evening everyone,

A specific 75 has caught my eye but failed the MOT on a few things, 2 of them being the sills. I just want to know how much would it be for the panels AND roughly for someone to fit them?? Ill put the failures below

Offside Front Integral body structure or chassis has excessive corrosion, seriously affecting its strength within 30cm of a body mounting inner sill (6.2.2 (d) (i))
Offside Rear Integral body structure or chassis has excessive corrosion, seriously affecting its strength within 30cm of a body mounting inner sill (6.2.2 (d) (i))

Thanks

I provided a local bodyshop with 2 repair panels from Tom Hobbs that cost £120 from his Ebay shop. The cost of fitting and painting I was quoted £400 but he had to add another £60 to the bill as the o/s inner sill was rotten.
The repair looks factory fresh and should last the life of the car hopefully.

Hi Regalrover , if I remember your near me outside Ipswich.
I took mine to Reynolds Restorations near Coddenham and he done welding on my sill for £150 but said if the sill needed a proper cut out and replace it would of been £450.
He’s done a top job, can’t even tell it’s been welded.

I had a Tom Hobbs repair panel (which was £67 inc P&P) welded in last month and you can't see the join, as Eric Morecombe used to say. This was at Hunter's Lane Garage in Rugby and I was charged £70 for the welding but this only included painting the panel and the immediately surrounding area.

I finished the rest off myself in stonechip and Simoniz Satin Black Tough Paint and although this isn't strictly speaking correct for a Longbridge built car, the Cowley cars did have black sills and my car already has a mix and match of Mk 1 and Mk 2 parts on it. And I prefer the black sill look anyway, it makes the car look less slab-sided and reminds me of my teenage years.

If i'm right the car your looking at is a little overpriced without an MOT, You will also need to factor in a belt change and a few other things All in all you would be looking at spending in the region of £1500 on the car
