How do you mean a rattle is this when you are driving or when you close your door

If you remove the weather strip on the outer edge of window there are little white clips with a circular black sponge stuff i replaced them which cured the rattle .......also check runner (remove door card) window runs inside
if rattle is still there i have heard some say put a pillow in the centre of the door and close the door and then push the door to bend it slightly inward Last edited by Cymrudragon; 2nd November 2010 at 16:30.. |

With the window part way up if you pull and push each side up and down does it move? If so it may have come off the "clamp" on the runner. This happened to me once and caused quite a rattle especially when closing the door.

All the opening windows have started to rattle on mine - but not when it's raining or warm. I've been told by someone who knows to experiment with what I use to clean the parts of the seals that are in contact with the glass. If I find a cure this way, I'll let you know.

Mine seems to be coming from inside the door panel, if I put pressure on the glass it makes no difference to the rattle so think it may be something inside door? but how to access it??

My windows rattle anmd it seems to be the glass against the rubber guides - top and sides. I was told that this comes from the use of car cleaners and polishes hardening the rubber and causing the squeak/rattle, hence whne very warm or damp it can go.
You can get some rubber revitelisers that are supposed to give rubber some of its orginal qualities back. You can also try using a silicon remover on the rubber. The rubber revitaliser does work for a while, but you have to keep repeating the process every few weeks in my experience. I must admit it drives me round the bend. |
