emptied the inlet manifold,, no more rattles
well ive had my ztt for about 3 weeks ( have previously had a couple of rover 75 2.0v6 saloons, and a 1.8 tourer).. since collecting the zt i had a list of jobs that i wanted to get done as follows..
1.. the bulb failure light was continually lit, although all lights seemed to work.... 2..a very rattly inlet manifold 3 ..replace the rear exhaust silencer as this has been replaced with a noisey aftermarket affair and sounds a bit too boomy or me (gettin old i am lol) well thanx to this forum ive managed to sort issue no 1 and now i have just completed removing the inlet and emptying it of its internals and replaced it after following a post on here........ took it for a quick test and my god what a difference no more rattles , just a lovely smooth v6 murmor (except for that ****** boy racer rear exhaust ) so i just wanted to say a big thankyou toall the folks on here,, ill definateley bepaying my subscription to the club come payday... oh and if anyone near shropshire has a standard rear exhaust for a ztt190 goin cheap let me know asap.... |

Very good, glad you sorted it. To be honest if I had a rattly KV6 manifold I'd end up gutting it too - not a move for the purists to make but if it felt OK I'd stick with it.
Best bet for a backbox is an eBay jobby - the aftermarket items seem of good quality. Just about to fit a cheapie to my ZT-T and I'm very impressed.
