Default ICE Upgrade

Hi

Unfortunately my budget only allows me to upgrade my ICE a bit at a time.

I already have an Alpine 3522S Amp and Pioneer MVH-X370BT head unit.

My question is which speakers should I upgrade first the Front Components or rear Coaxials and which would you connect the amp to to achieve the best audio experience??

I will be following previous advice and going for Hertz DCX 165 coaxials for the rears and Hertz DSK 165 components for the fronts.

Thanks for the help

Regards

Fronts first, by far the more important ones

Wow the 3522s is a blast from the past for me. I used to sell these way back just as Alpine introduced the V12 range in '93/'94. When car amps looked like car amps lol.

Definitely as Jeff says, replace the fronts first. Personally I I've ignored the rears completely, as I never sit there, and if they were to be any more pronounced I would hear them from the driver's seat.

I have the standard front speakers and have added the tweeters to the rears..if I fade from front to rear the rears sound like they have more bass....so will that change when I upgrade the front components and power them with the 3522s??

The overall sound quality will improve. The bass will sound different in the rear because of the door volume and sealing between the door and speaker. Upgrading the fronts will improve the bass even more, but when you do, look to seal the woofer better to the door.

As Jeff said, invest in some good quality front components. Sound quality will be fantastic. If you want bass, you're best option for this is to install a subwoofer.
